Mellow Monday: The French Country Rooster
Welcome to Mellow Monday, a picture post with beautiful photos from around the web!
Sit back and relax as we present this week’s theme:
The French Country Rooster
The rooster is such a significant element of French Country decor, because of its history with France and its importance to the countryside.
You can learn more about the rooster’s significance here, but this time we’ll mostly be looking at French Country decor with the rooster!
Tail feathers are an important element in a ceramic rooster statue! After all, real roosters aren’t afraid to strut and show off their lovely tail feathers. I just love the colors on this one.
Have you ever noticed how colorful a real rooster can be? For such ordinary barnyard birds, they have the most extraordinary colors!
These two little figurines are just too adorable!
Colors are such an important element of French Country decor, so it’s only right that the most colorful of birds be used!
Of course, there are two different colorways to French Country palettes. You have your vibrant Provencal display and then the milky, soft colors of the cool north, home of “shabby chic” French Country style.
For the shabby chic look, a classic white ceramic rooster is perfect!
Of course, ceramic statues aren’t the only ways to decorate with a rooster. Try some rooster-themed dinnerware!

I just love this country rooster table setting by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. The colors are so perfect for fall! All it needs is a Couleur Nature tablecloth.
Do you have any roosters sitting about your home? Are they perhaps even real roosters? Tell me if you love these bodacious birds!
